Here are some steps we can do to reduce Greenhouse Gas Exchange in order to slow global warming.
Familiarize to planting some trees and using the plant as a living fence.
Avoid burning trash. Choose your organic waste and non-organic. Organic waste can be used to make compost.
·Save energy, such as turn off the lights and electronic equipment when not needed, use energy efficient lights and do not let the refrigerator door open too long.
Use the two sides of paper, recycling paper and using materials recycled.
Bring own shopping bag (of cloth) to avoid the use of plastic bags.
Avoid the use of elevators and escalators, if up and down, at least for 2-story floor, to save electricity.
Try using public transportation and vehicles environmentally friendly fuel such as gas and biodiesel.
For the near distance, try not to use motor vehicles, better walk, or use a bicycle.
Take care of the engine periodically to vehicle emissions minimal.
Rest your vehicle at least two days a week.
The Earth Day
Today is The Earth Day. Give even a speck of respect for our Earth. Earth is home to all the people. Earth Day was first conceived by Gaylord Nelson, a member of the United States Senate in 1963. The idea was a momentum to learn about the Earth and how to maintain it.
If only 200 thousand citizens of Jakarta which has a private car took time to work at home one day a week, the cost of national consumption could save USD $ 2.6 trillion per year. Meanwhile, exhaust emissions can be reduced to reach 30 million tons per year. The amount is equivalent to planting 30 million trees over 30 years.
