Eat Chocolate to Relieve Stress

chocolateOften experience stress because of the workload? Maybe you often choose to eat as a fugitive.There’s a good idea to just biting and chewing chocolate. Because according to recent research found chocolate can lower levels of stress hormones.

Since 11,000 BC the Aztecs and Maya have enjoyed chocolate as a beverage. Chocolate contains alkaloids such as theobromine and phenethylamine which psychological effect on the body. This is related to levels of serotonin in the brain.

Scientists claim that chocolate is eaten in certain amounts can lower blood pressure. Dark chocolate is recently promoted as health benefits, including the content of antioxidants that can reduce free radicals.

In a study conducted recently also demonstrated that eating dark chocolate candy as much as 40 grams per day for 2 weeks can reduce stress hormone cortisol levels also ‘fight or flight’ hormone known as catecholamine on the people affected by severe stress.

This discovery adds a row of dark chocolate benefits that have been previously known. The researchers also tried to explore the content in dark chocolate that can provide health benefits.Such as increase insulin sensitivity, lower blood pressure and improve mood.

In the study, the researchers tried to examine the effects of consuming 40 grams of dark chocolate every day for 2 weeks in the blood and urine of 30 healthy adults. Half of the chocolate eaten in the morning and the other half in the afternoon.

Anxiety level of the sample was measured at the beginning of research and blood and urine was measured at the beginning and at the end of the study. The results prove that eating dark chocoalte each day can reduce stress hormone levels in those with high anxiety levels. The researchers also found that dark chocolate has an effect on metabolism and microbiological activity in the intestine.

The results of this study was launched by the Journal of Proteome Research and the research conducted by researchers Nestle Research Center in Lausanne, Switzerland. So do not worry about fat because dark chocolate is usually not contain sugar but it contains more cacao solid that will benefit the body. To eat a variety of chips that was filling, better chewing delicious chocolate and healthy!
